Logic Pro X. When comparing FL Studio vs Logic Pro X, the Slant community recommends FL Studio for most people. In the question “What are the best DAWs? ” FL Studio is ranked 5th while Logic Pro X is ranked 9th. The most important reason people chose FL Studio is: With the producer or signature bundle, updates are free forever%(). The modulation system of FL Studio is an absolute beast and the whole “dynamic” approach of having “flexible” automation clips is unique and clearly a plus. Logic on the other side now has a big advantage: it features Alchemy which is an incredible powerful synth which can do so much styles of synthesis. Unlike Logic Pro X, FL Studio operates on all computer platforms and is known for having a very simplistic and easy-to-use interface that is very beginner-friendly. It does slightly veer off into being a more electronic-based genre software, however, because the said genre is so extensive, it can be argued that it makes that genre truly excel as a result. I would say that Logic is just as capable in electronic production as FL, only difference being the workflow while (ime) FL was just really shitty to record in. Logic also comes with a bunch of great synths and sampled instruments (that in my opinion surpasses those of FL Studio). 2.

Also, for newer versions in the future, I will have to pay the full price of the software again. I hear this is one of the most popular and lots of artists I like also use it. Even if I do decide to purchase, will future versions all work through bootcamp?

Will I be eligible to download the Mac version when it becomes available? Thanks a million to everyone in advance.

This is also my first post. Regards Gil. Please unregister from this “site”. GS is religion!!!! I have bought FL at version 7, producer edition and only added what I really needed over the years It’s perfectly stable and able, support is great, and version 12 comes with some really helpful features hugely improved mixer, vector based windows that are resizable etc. I have used Logic in the past, but moved away from it. It’s true the negative reports have been adding lately The reason I prefer FL personally has to do with workflow, and that is what should be decisive.

I can compose and arrange pretty quickly in FL, there is a short way from the idea to getting it down. If you’re going to record into it mostly, it can handle it but perhaps something like ProTools is more So the question really is, how do you go about making your music? Logic’s been rock solid for me for many years and Pro X has been improving steadily every year, and you get good updates every couple of months, often adding significant functionalities. The price is unmatched and in my opinion the whole suite, sample library and plugins are above what FL offers.

Stick with Mac native software whenever you can and avoid windows headaches. Like stated above. I’ve been using the Mac beta for FL Studio for a year or two whenever they started it. Works fine, but I still use Logic X times more than FL Studio as it works better with my external synths and is awesome in its own right. Looping Loddar. As a Rookie you may should not do big investments, beside your investments for learning Thanks for all the info guys.

I just did a little more research on FL’s native effects i. I’ve looked up and read people complaining about comps with logic. I had another rookie producer tell me that automation in logic in all on the same track and looks confusing as opposed to FL.

I know its so much more but looks like i still need to do more research! If you have a Mac, it is pretty much required to get Logic X. It’s really stable. People have been making professional recording on it for many years.

I love logic. I also used to loved previous iterations of Fruityloops up until abou 11 where they started to changed to much for my liking. Fruityloops 12 is now utter garbage gutting the program of its most fun feature : the step sequencer editing notes in the step sequencer now opens the piano roll instead. My notes on FL: 1. Mac – As already mentioned, there is a beta and a full version will be available in the near future. And you should definitely bear in mind the Lifetime Free updates.

Remember, there are other choices out there. For example, Ableton Live is a fantastic choice for beginner producers, and is generally considered one of the best DAWs for live performance and beat-making.

Pro Tools is also a great choice for tracking and recording, and is similar in design to Logic Pro X. But neither is objectively better than the other. Any track made in FL Studio you could make in Logic, and vice versa. It all comes down to which one you feel more comfortable using, and which DAW fits your unique style of production. Which DAW should I use? It has a simple, pattern-based audio engine and powerful sequencing and recording tools.

Logic Pro X is probably the best performing digital audio workstation DAW that is currently available on the market. FL Studio is undoubtedly a leading professional audio editing software, which enables professional audio artists to get their creative juices really flowing.

It comes loaded with numerous DAW features and is also a powerful recording studio which enables users to record and mix live instrument tracks.

The features provided by FL Studio are excellent. It is relatively cheap but surprisingly offers a large variety of capabilities that professional electronic music producers will find valuable.

FL Studio bundle offers everything you need to create, edit and record your tracks. With it you can start creating your own beats within minutes. Its popularity can largely be attributed to its extensive and flexible sequencing options.

The software also incorporates a library that features thousands of sounds, which are perfect for crafting demos, arranging tracks and making live sets.

The software also incorporates a library that features thousands of sounds, which are perfect for crafting demos, arranging tracks and making live sets. A good way to get the most out of FL Studio is to create a custom setup that mirrors what you would find in a typical music studio. By doing a custom setup that includes the essential FL Studio features and all of the necessary midi files, you will be able to expedite your creation process and bring your musical ideas to fruition much faster.

Perhaps one of the most exciting features with Logic Pro X was the introduction of a new multi-touch interface, which allow users to drag and drop Logic hardware, control surface components, and even virtual instruments right from their iPad.

There are only two physical instruments that can be dragged and dropped: Garageband drum kit and the mixer. Logic Pro X also includes over 40 premium sound effects, four unique audio plugins, two virtual instruments, and four video plugins. What’s more, you can import sounds from other iOS devices, including the iPhone, and import hardware into your iPad for an incredible range of electronic effects.

This not only makes the instrument modeling tools more powerful, but also provides a way for users to experiment with sounds they wouldn’t otherwise be able to create. FL Studio also offers a host of other useful add-ons and plugins, which will further boost the functionality of the already super-charged, powerful and cutting-edge options. What sets Logic Pro X that apart from other products is that it’s packed with a wide variety of truly innovative digital audio workflows for sequencing, arranging, and performing live.

Final Verdict: FL Studio is undoubtedly a leading professional audio editing software, which enables professional audio artists to get their creative juices really flowing.

It’s highly versatile and can adapt to different workflows. Image Line’s policy is super transparent and responsive, so you can have a direct feedback from the developers. Let me know if you have any further questions. All I’ll say is you can grab Alchemy, Sculpture and Ultrabeat off my cold, dead hands. But to each his own, if you love FL go for it. I don’t know muck about FL. I moved from ProTools to Logic years ago and it was the best move I ever made for me. Now with every update LPX keeps getting better and better.

Alchemy alone is worth the price of admission! Even though I am a diehard FL for life person because of the easy workflow, the sound designer in me says still get Serum but go with logic because you get Alchemy and Sculpture included. If you only use Serum and Alchemy for the next 20 years you will be more than fine.

I would spend that on Reaktor. Then, save up for some choice analog hardware over the next couple of years. Get old, have kids, gain some weight, sell your analog kit off and start a modest modular system. You can just keep it in the corner. Of course your wife won’t understand. She takes zero interest in your hobby but she does notice when you add a new module Logic X, like all DAWs, when first released, had some bugs.

Which DAW doesn’t? I have zero problems with it, and LPX has far superior software plugins and ability to work with external instruments. I use all three of them despite owning many high quality 3rd party plugins. I also use Logic’s compressor, distortion, EQ, tape delay, and convolution reverb often. The onky weak spot IMO is the modulation plugins. The flanger, chorus, ensemble are kinda weak.

I automate both software and hardware insturments with ease. I can’t imagine automation being any easier to either record or program.

Logic was made to run on a Mac OS. This fact can not be disputed and is not an opinion. If you don’t like Logic, why not Studio One or Cubase? They work on the Mac OS Just save yourself a grand and buy a PC if you want to run FL.

They work on the Mac OS Just save yourself a grand and buy a PC if you want to run FL. I have messed around with FL because a close friend who I collab with sometimes, also uses it frequently. Other than the novel piano roll, I don’t see or hear the appeal. I would urge you to keep an open mind. Your music creation is a journey. Who knows where it will take you?

Times and tastes change. Good luck. Either way, you’re making music. Don’t sweat it too much. I just think buying a Mac if you wakt FL, is pointless. The canvas approach just clicks with me. Workflow is really what matters.

OP I started on FL back in the day, and it’s changed remarkably since then. I do not love the changes made in Logic X, since my main tools were either hidden or removed. That’s not to say they won’t work all the time, but they might give you some hiccups once in a while. Have you sold yourself on just these 2? Or have you tried any others like Live, Bitwig, or Reaper?

Not an apple guy here , but logic has the best included plugins Alchemy is a beast.! Go logic or any other daw that runs on osx And you still have money left to buy reaktor. Thank you guys for the overwhelming responses. I read every one and appreciate the wealth of information sincerely.

In the end, i decided to purchase Logic for the price point for one, as well as the fact that i DO have a Macbook Pro now. What was the point of buying it if not for Logic? Also, FL still is running on bootcamp, and I can always decide to try that later on if I’m unhappy. Thanks again everyone! I look forward to being a part of this community and sharing ideas with everyone here that shares the same passion as I do. Top Mentioned Manufacturers. Facebook Twitter Reddit LinkedIn.

The canvas нажмите чтобы перейти just clicks with me. Workflow is really what matters. OP I started on FL back in the day, and it’s changed remarkably since then. I do not love the changes made in Fl studio vs logic pro x edm free X, since my main tools were either hidden or removed. That’s not to say they won’t work all the time, but they might читать больше you some hiccups once in a while.

Have you sold yourself on just these 2? Or have you tried any others like Live, Bitwig, or Reaper?

Im going to be making EDM for the most part, as well as recording audio.

Logic is owned by Apple, so we will never see a Windows release.

There are only two physical instruments that can be dragged and dropped: Garageband drum kit and the mixer.
