The solution to my successfully updating to version was a 3-day telephone marathon wherein the Microsoft technician from India remoted into my computer. He eventually had to completely uninstall Windows 10 and reinstall. He then deleted all unnecessary files. My computer runs like a charm now; however, the 3-day 6 hours per day sessions took a lot of patience and perseverance on both sides. At least it got fixed!

I have found many computers will try and download the upgrade plus run another version from the upgrade assistant. So I will not use it as it forces 2 lot of user identities which can cause the computer to crash as it cant decide which user to boot off and if it picks the wrong one that is not finished installing that’s the end of things.
So you need turn disconnect from the internet to stop it all continuing for ever. I have had customers computers running non stop to try and finish but it cant.

The solution to my successfully updating to version was a 3-day telephone marathon wherein the Microsoft technician from India remoted into my computer. He eventually had to completely uninstall Windows 10 and reinstall. He then deleted all unnecessary files. My computer runs like a charm now; however, the 3-day 6 hours per day sessions took a lot of patience and perseverance on both sides. At least it got fixed! I am having an issue installing the Windows 10 version I received a message telling me that I need to update or remove AVG Antivirus before the installation will continue.
